
As part of Sales Steering, we are responsible for regional planning as well as ordering for the global BMW Motorrad market. For the ramp-up of the PNW2 plant in Thailand, we are looking for an Expat Team Lead (ZX-VS-5TH) Ordering & Planning based in Bangkok In this key role, you will support the plant set-up from an ordering and planning perspective, define and implement the required systems and processes, and—working closely with the teams in Munich—manage the entire ordering process for the plant in Thailand.
Your responsibilities:
Functional leadership and establishment of a sustainable local ordering and planning team in Bangkok (hiring/onboarding in coordination, coaching, clarification of roles and responsibilities)
Set up and establish the ordering and planning process for the PNW2 plant in Thailand: define target operating model, governance, roles, and interfaces to Munich and other stakeholders
End-to-end management of the ordering process for the plant in Thailand within the PNW2 environment (planning/ordering cycles, prioritization, capacity and supply capability alignment, escalation management in case of deviations) – in close coordination with the Munich teams
Define, specify, and implement the relevant ordering and planning systems (including requirements, testing/UAT, go-live preparation, trainings, and sustainable operations) – in close coordination with the Munich teams
Coordinate and align with central and local interfaces (e.g., Sales/Region, Production, Logistics, IT) and establish regular communication and decision-making formats between Bangkok and Munich
Ensure high data and process quality in the ordering and planning systems (governance, plausibility checks, documentation) and transition from ramp-up to stable operations
Your profile:
Completed degree (e.g., Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Business Informatics) or a comparable qualification
Several years of in-depth experience in ordering and planning, ideally in a production/plant environment, as well as with process-supporting systems (e.g., order management, planning/ERP environments)
Experience in setting up and/or further developing processes and organizations (greenfield/transformation) and in establishing clear governance and interface models
Strong (functional) leadership skills, high decision-making and assertiveness, and excellent stakeholder management – also in an international, matrix-driven environment
Very good communication skills (German/English) as well as intercultural competence and willingness to take on an expat assignment in Bangkok (Thailand)
Structured, proactive working style and strong process and systems understanding – ideally experience in system definition, implementation, testing/go-live, and change management
