We are seeking an experienced Zuora CPQ and Billing Developer to join our Finance team and drive the implementation, customization, and optimization of our subscription billing and quote-to-cash processes. This role will be responsible for designing and developing solutions within the Zuora platform to support our growing subscription business model.

Responsibilities

Platform Development & Configuration:

  • Design, develop, and implement Zuora CPQ (Configure, Price, Quote) solutions to streamline sales processes
  • Configure and customize Zuora Billing to support complex subscription models, pricing structures, and billing scenarios
  • Build and maintain integrations between Zuora and other business systems (CRM, ERP, data warehouses)
  • Develop custom workflows, business rules, and automated processes within the Zuora platform

Technical Implementation & Integration:

  • Design and maintain API integrations using Zuora's REST, SOAP, and Bulk APIs
  • Develop custom reports and analytics dashboards using Zuora Reporting and Analytics
  • Implement data transformation and migration processes for system integrations
  • Develop automated testing frameworks for Zuora configurations and customizations

Business Process Optimization:

  • Collaborate with Finance, Sales, and Operations teams to understand billing and quoting requirements
  • Design scalable solutions for complex subscription scenarios including usage-based billing, multi-entity structures, and revenue recognition
  • Optimize quote-to-cash processes to improve sales efficiency and customer experience
  • Support month-end close processes and ensure accurate revenue reporting

Support and Maintenance:

  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for Zuora platform issues
  • Maintain system documentation, technical specifications, and process workflows
  • Monitor system performance and implement optimizations as needed
  • Support user training and knowledge transfer initiatives.

Skills and Experience

Technical Skills

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with Zuora CPQ and Zuora Billing platforms
  • Strong understanding of subscription business models and billing concepts
  • Proficiency in Zuora APIs (REST, SOAP, and Bulk APIs)
  • Experience with Zuora Workflow and custom field configurations
  • Knowledge of Z-Billing settings, payment methods, and revenue recognition rules

Integration & Development Skills

  • Experience with system integrations using middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, or similar)
  • Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and reporting
  • Proficiency in JavaScript and HTML/CSS for Zuora customizations
  • Understanding of REST/SOAP web services and API development principles
  • Experience with data migration and ETL processes

Business Acumen

  • Strong understanding of subscription billing concepts recurring billing, usage-based pricing, proration, amendments
  • Strong knowledge of revenue recognition principles and accounting standards (ASC 606)
  • Experience with quote-to-cash processes and sales operations
  • Understanding of multi-currency and multi-entity billing scenarios

Preferred Qualifications

  • Zuora certifications (Zuora Billing Specialist, Zuora CPQ Specialist)
  • Experience with Salesforce integration and Zuora CPQ for Salesforce
  • Knowledge of Zuora Revenue for advanced revenue management
  • Experience with Zuora Analytics and custom reporting solutions
  • Background in SaaS/subscription business models
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and modern development tools

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in subscription billing systems or similar enterprise software
  • Previous experience in a SaaS or subscription-based business environment preferred
