The opportunity

Our Energy & Utilities team are now seeking their nexthighly capable Zero Harm Advisor to join our team on Barrow Island. This is a full-time permanent opportunity working a 14/14 roster, flying direct from Perth. Reporting directly to the Site Superintendent you will play a major part in ensuring our Zero Harm standard is embedded into everything our people do on and off site.

What you’ll do

In this role, you will be responsible for mentoring, coaching and guiding our operational leaders, engineers, supervisors and blue-collar workforce to successfully promote and foster a proactive culture of Zero Harm.

  • Ensure application of Downer Zero Harm standards and legislative requirements to all work activities.
  • Conduct observations, site inspections and audits.
  • Investigate incidents, injuries or breaches of safety and environment procedures.
  • Manage incident reporting within Downer and client systems.

What we’re looking for

You will be a driven, motivated and adaptable individual allowing you to be highly successful in this role. We are seeking Perth based applicants willing and able to take part in a 14/14 FIFO roster.

  • Minimum 3 years of operational safety exposure within a project-based environment or equivalent trade-based experience (Energy, Utilities or Civil industry experience preferred).
  • Prior utilisation of Health Safety & Environment Management systems.
  • Certificate IV in OHS/WHS.
  • ICAM lead investigator Auditing (advantageous but not essential).
  • Demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, communication, and problem-solving skills.
