About the Role

As an experienced Residential Care Youth Worker, you will support young people who are facing complex life situations. You will provide them with a safe, stable, and nurturing environment, helping them develop the skills and resilience needed to lead healthy and productive lives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure the young people in your care feel safe, supported, and valued
  • Foster positive relationships with young people, their families, and the community
  • Assist in the development of social, emotional, and life skills
  • Support young people in making healthy choices and accessing appropriate healthcare
  • Work collaboratively with a therapeutic care team to implement tailored care plans
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and structured home environment
  • Manage daily tasks, including written and verbal reports, case notes, and documentation as required

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Relevant experience in Youth Work, Child Safety, or a related field
  • Current Open Unrestricted Australian Driver's Licence
  • Minimum Cert IV in Child, Youth, and Family Intervention or equivalent (or actively working towards, with the commitment to complete within 12 months of your employment start date)
  • Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain
  • Current Paid Blue Card or willingness to obtain
  • Hope and Healing certificate (we can assist you with this if you don't have one)
  • National Police Check or willingness to obtain

You should be adaptable, patient, and ready to take on challenges as you guide young people toward better futures.

  • The ability to manage challenging behaviours and complex needs
  • A commitment to creating safe, positive environments for young people
  • Capacity to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
