Contract Type: Temporary until March 2028

Salary: FC3 £25,604.23 to £26,786.83 per year pro rata

Working Pattern: 16 hours per week, 40 weeks per year

Location: Auchmuty Learning Centre, Glenrothes

We are looking for a motivated and driven individual to work positively with the 16+ youth work team in a community setting to engage effectively with young people in their own communities and to contribute towards the learning and development of young people using a range of educational practices and approaches.

The successful candidate will work to plan, organise, deliver and evaluate the programme, group discussions and project work and more specific activities such as Youth Achievement Awards. Fife Council is committed to delivering services which are responsive, reliable, efficient, and effective.

The Person

  • Have experience in a youth work setting

  • Have experience of developing learning and education programmes with young people (Deliver results – See ‘How We work Matters’ Framework)

  • Be able to motivate young people and encourage participation.

  • Have good organisational skills and can plan a programme around their needs.

  • Must be able to work with other Council services and partner agencies to support the effective planning and delivery of care and support within our service.

  • Can act as a positive role model to young people.

  • Be a good timekeeper and be reliable and prepared to work flexibly.

  • Be able to work towards the desirable qualification SVQ2 or SVQ3 Youth Work / PDA Youth Work.

Before confirming to your appointment, you will be required to obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland and become a member of the relevant PVG scheme.
