The Role

We are currently seeking permanent part time and casual Youth Workers with a therapeutic, person-centred approach who are:

  • Available to work weekday shifts and sleepover shifts
  • Available to work weekdays and weekends

This is an onsite position. As a Youth Worker in our Out of Home Care (OOHC) team, you will support young people living in our OOHC homes. You’ll engage in daily living activities and help young people develop essential life skills — all while working as part of a supportive, values-driven team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engage with young people to build life and independent living skills
  • Support young people with daily routines such as cooking and cleaning.
  • Organise and participate in activities that promote growth and wellbeing
  • Provide consistent, trauma-informed, person-centred care
  • Collaborate with Case Managers & other professionals to support the young person's care plan
  • Support family contact activities where appropriate
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions

Essential Requirements

  • Must be available to work weekend sleepover shifts
  • Minimum Certificate 3 in Youth Work, Community Services or related field
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in Out of Home Care or Foster Care settings
  • Experience working with young people impacted by trauma
  • Strong de-escalation skills and understanding of therapeutic care approaches – TCI training an advantage
  • Current Working with Children Check and National Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Driver’s Licence
