Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club is seeking a Youth & Water Activities Supervisor for the Kids Camp Department.
The Youth & Water Activities Supervisor is responsible for providing interactive, fun, and educational youth programming and other Outdoor Pursuits (OP) activities. Act as an ambassador of Baker's Bay Golf & Ocean Club by delivering exceptional guest service, promoting health, wellness, ocean/land activities and sports, and maintaining member confidentiality. Deliver world-class, safe, and engaging experiences for children and teens (ages 4-17).
Key Responsibilities
- · Plan, organize, and deliver daily youth programming (ages 4-17): games, arts & crafts, environmental education, team challenges, sports, and themed/special-event activities.
- · Lead watersports sessions with emphasis on kitesurfing instruction (beginner to intermediate): teach skills, safety, and etiquette.
- Support instruction in windsurfing, sailing, SUP, wake, etc., as needed. · Supervise all on- and off-water activities; ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, SOPs, emergency procedures, and safeguarding/child-protection policies.
- Attend required training and remain compliant with certifications and local regulations. ·
- Conduct equipment checks, basic maintenance, secure storage, and daily accounting of watersports and activity gear. Report maintenance needs promptly; ensure monthly safety checks are logged (QuickBase).
- Assist with lifeguarding and water rescue duties as required; help members and children in/out of the water and ensure pool/beach safety.
- Maintain accurate attendance, incident, and lesson records; ensure all enrolled children have signed waivers. Report incidents to management.
- Run the kids camps and babysitting
- Provide childcare services including meal supervision per dietary restrictions, babysitting as part of childcare program, and responsibility for children signed into your leader group.
- Greet members, touch base daily, communicate program details and progress professionally, and encourage participation.
- Provide runner support for OP department when needed. ·
- Support seasonal programming, special events, family activities (including dressing in costumes and high-energy participation), and other duties assigned by OP management.
- Maintain presentation standards of department areas (clean, organized, professional) and keep towels/supplies stocked.
- Assist with beach/pool/sunset-park upkeep and member service tasks (towel supply, seating, bonfires, etc.).
- Follow company Health & Safety and local environmental/COSHH regulations; wear required PPE and help eliminate hazards.
Required Qualifications & Certifications
- Certified Kitesurfing Instructor (e.g., IKO, BKSA, VDWS or equivalent).
- Proven watersports instruction experience (kitesurfing preferred; other disciplines a plus).
- Strong swimmer, comfortable in the ocean.
- Minimum 1 year experience in a luxury hospitality setting
- Current First Aid and CPR/AED certification (Emergency First Response or equivalent minimum). ·
- Current lifeguard certification.
- Experience working with children and teens in recreational or instructional settings.
- Valid driver's license; ability to operate club vehicles and tow trailers (if applicable).
- Fluent in English; excellent communication and interpersonal skills. (other languages desirable) Preferred
- Additional certifications (PADI, RYA, other watersports credentials). · Experience in activity programming, youth development, or camp leadership
- Outdoor work in tropical climate; significant time on beach and on the water. · Physically fit: able to swim, launch/land equipment, handle gear, lift/carry up to ~25 lbs, bend/stoop/walk/stand for extended periods and drive a golf cart. Flexible hours including weekends, holidays, and peak season shifts
- Ability to perform in costumes for events.
