Community Care Trust Aotearoa is seeking passionate and committed Youth Support Workers to join our Youth Team in Ōtepoti.

About the role | He kōrero whakamārama mō tēnei tūranga

As a Youth Support Worker, you will work alongside tamariki and rangatahi who may have experienced trauma, adversity, or complex life circumstances. Through positive relationships, consistency, and encouragement, you will support them to build confidence, develop life skills, and achieve their goals.

You will help maintain a safe, structured, and nurturing environment while supporting their wellbeing and development. Experience in positive behaviour support and working with complex behaviours is highly valued.

What you will bring | Ngā pūkenga mō tēnei tūranga

We are looking for people who:

  • Have experience working with tamariki, rangatahi, whānau, Māori, Pacific, or diverse communities
  • Bring an understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and culturally responsive practice
  • Have knowledge and experience of Te Ao Māori, tikanga Māori, Pacific worldviews, and culturally grounded approaches
  • Can build positive, respectful, and trusting relationships with tamariki and rangatahi
  • Have strong communication skills, patience, and resilience
  • Understand strengths-based and trauma-informed approaches
  • Have experience supporting tamariki and rangatahi with complex needs or behaviours (desirable)
  • Work well within a team and can maintain clear documentation and communication

Essential requirements

  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain one at our cost)
  • Eligibility to work in Aotearoa New Zealand
  • Minimum 12 months remaining on a Work/Student Visa
  • Availability to work rostered shifts, including weekends

All appointments are subject to satisfactory completion of pre-employment checks, including Police Vetting and Oranga Tamariki checks.
