Position Type: Part Time
Salary Range: $10.00 - $20.00POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. The sports we use personal trainers for include, but are not limited to, basketball, soccer, volleyball, and gymnastics. Under the supervision and guidance of the Youth Sports Coordinator, the Youth Sports Personal Trainer is responsible for leading youth in one-on-one or small-group sports-specific training sessions to help them develop their skills and build confidence in the sport of their choosing.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Adhere to policies related to boundaries with youth.
- Complete the required abuse risk management training.
- Adhere to procedures related to managing high-risk activities and supervising youth.
- Report suspicious or inappropriate behaviors and policy violations.
- Follow mandated abuse reporting requirements.
- Facilitate student learning.
- Uphold the four core values of caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility.
- Create a positive and inclusive environment.
- Personal trainers will be expected to train and teach, while keeping the youth safe.
- Act professionally to serve as role models for the participants. The Y for youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility.

- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
- Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen, and Bloodborne Pathogen training required within 60 days of employment.
- Child Abuse Prevention training is required before/on the first day of working with youth.
- Must have experience coaching and teaching at the fundamental level of the sport they are hired to train.
- Must be able to model and demonstrate skills you are teaching on a fundamental level.
- Must be able to communicate schedule conflicts with supervisor.
