Examples of duties

What You’ll Do in This Role:

  • Paint and stripe sports fields to ensure clear boundaries and professional layouts for youth games.
  • Operate and maintain small powered and non-powered equipment, including striping machines and field grooming tools.
  • Clean and maintain public facilities, restrooms, and grounds, including emptying trash cans and performing general upkeep.
  • Assist full-time Parks and Recreation staff with special projects and park maintenance tasks.
  • Respond to public inquiries and provide helpful, friendly customer service to park visitors.
  • Adhere strictly to safe work practices and procedures while handling tools and equipment.

Qualifications

You Have:

  • Possession of, or the ability to obtain, an appropriate and valid driver license.
  • Formal or informal education or training ensuring the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance.
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED certification preferred, or the willingness to obtain it.


You Will Succeed in This Role If You:

  • Enjoy hands-on, outdoor work across athletic fields and sports facilities
  • Are comfortable lifting at least fifty pounds and handling daily physical activity like walking and standing for long periods
  • Can work independently, follow instructions carefully, and pay close attention to detail
  • Maintain a positive, professional attitude when interacting with field visitors, teams, and coworkers
