This is a heartwarming opportunity for compassionate providers who love making a difference! We work with members throughout Wisconsin to find providers that fit each of their needs. Our goal is to help individuals be in more control of their own supports and to have a say in who is assisting them. This helps them to stay in their own homes as long as possible.

We are seeking a reliable, patient, and caring Respite Care Provider to offer part-time support when additional help is needed. Expectations for this role are to provide a calm, safe, and engaging environment in the child's home and occasionally in the community.

Hours 6 hours per week (flexible/as needed)
Pay Rate $14.13/hour

The ideal candidate will be comfortable supporting an individual who experiences daily seizures and will be able to provide a steady, reassuring presence while following an established Seizure Action Plan.

About the child
This child enjoys:
Reading books
Playing on their tablet
Card/board games
Going places they are familiar/comfortable with
Playing outdoors when the weather is nice
Being spoken to calm and slowly
 
Responsibilities
Provide Attentive one-on-one care in the child's home
Occasional outings in the community
Monitor for seizure activity and respond appropriately according to the Seizure Action Plan
Provide gentle reminders for bathroom use, as delaying may trigger seizures
Maintain a calm and predictable environment with slow and clear communication
Offer reassurance and support during moments of frustration or feeling overwhelmed
 
Seizure Awareness & Care
Seizures occur daily and may include:
o Head turning to the side
o Eye twitching
o Dizziness
The individual is aware that seizures may occur
The provider must remain calm and confident during seizure activity
Experience with seizure care is preferred
 
Qualifications
Experience working with individuals who have seizures or complex medical needs
Patient, dependable, and understanding
Comfortable maintaining routines and a calm pace
Able to follow care plans consistently
Must have a Driver's License & reliable vehicle
