*Availability: Part Time, Weeknight Evenings from 4:00pm - 8:30pm


The Youth Programs Associate is personable, detail-oriented, active, energetic, and a zealous leader who plans youth programs and activities with the Youth Programs, Playroom, Aquatics Manager. They have an innate ability to program various youth activities such as rock climbing, ninja courses, and youth camps, etc. They have a passion for working with and assisting children/youth, as well as strong leadership skills. They maintain a positive attitude and enthusiasm for the position.

You are a customer oriented, friendly, and outgoing professional who has a serious knack for creating youth programs. You are creative in building, arranging, and implementing various programs, activities and events for children and youth in a safe and fun environment.

You’re a go-getter who has a special aptitude for sales. You have an eye for detail and data with the ability to generate accurate reports to evaluate the overall performance of the program.

Your youthful spirit allows you to genuinely connect with your team members and effectively train and oversee them. You have leadership skills that allow you to encourage and motivate your team. You can adapt your communication and approach to suit any audience. You enjoy recruiting, selecting, training and consistently developing your high performing team members

As a Youth Programs Associate, a typical day might include the following:

  • Meeting and greeting a tonne of familiar and unfamiliar faces
  • Answering the telephone promptly with an energetic tone of voice
  • Process registration and check-ins including processing payment using the software system
  • Plan, carry out, and assess developmentally appropriate activities and experiences in harmony with the centre’s philosophy
  • Use observations to expand play and plan activities that recognize individual difference
  • Ensure the environment is healthy and safe
  • Communicate positively and build trust with parents

To land this role you need to have:

  • Post-secondary education relating to the health and fitness industry, rock climbing, or other youth programs is considered an asset
  • At least 1+ years direct work experience in youth program development.
  • Experience working with children from six weeks old to 12 years old is required
  • All team members must have current CPR/First Aid certification prior to start date and must be maintained throughout employment
  • A recent Criminal Background Check (Vulnerable Sector) prior to commencement of training and/or work.
