Youth Program Workers – Multiple Opportunities

Help young people build confidence, skills and brighter futures.

MADEC is recruiting passionate Youth Program Workers to support the delivery of our Youth Empowerment Support Service (YESS) and Pathways to Independence (PTI) programs.

We have multiple opportunities available with flexible employment options ranging from 20 to 38 hours per week.

If you enjoy mentoring young people, facilitating activities, building community connections and helping people overcome barriers, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

As a Youth Program Worker, you will:

  • Build positive, professional relationships with young people.
  • Deliver individual and group-based youth programs.
  • Support young people to develop life skills, confidence and independence.
  • Assist participants to access education, employment, training and community opportunities.
  • Facilitate workshops, activities and community engagement initiatives.
  • Maintain accurate participant records and case notes.
  • Work collaboratively with community organisations, schools and referral partners.
  • Contribute to a positive, safe and inclusive environment for young people.

About You

You are someone who:

  • Is passionate about supporting young people.
  • Builds rapport quickly and communicates effectively.
  • Is organised, adaptable and proactive.
  • Enjoys working as part of a collaborative team.
  • Can manage competing priorities while maintaining quality outcomes.
  • Is committed to safeguarding and person-centred practice.

Essential Requirements

  • Qualification (or working towards) in Community Services, Youth Work or a related field.
  • Current Queensland Driver Licence.
  • Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
  • National Police Check.
  • Current First Aid and CPR (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience working with vulnerable young people, employment programs or community services will be highly regarded.

We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
