Job Description

Position: Youth Program Coordinator

Department: Allentown Citadel Corps

Availability of Position: Immediate

Schedule: Full Time; Monday through Friday from 10AM to 6PM

Supervises: Youth Program Aides, Volunteers, Tutors, Guest Presenters

Reporting Relationship: Corps Social Services Director

Salary and Grade:$16.00 per hour; 74 Non-Exempt

The Youth Program Coordinator is responsible for directing, supervising, and reporting all youth program activities at The Salvation Army Allentown Citadel Corps such as, after school program, summer day camp, back to school program, seasonal programs and any other youth activities.

Responsibilities

of Position:

  • Provides direct supervision of Youth Program Aides and volunteers. The Youth Program Coordinator carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with The Salvation Army’s policies and procedures.
  • Organize activities in the gymnasium and game room.
  • Communicate with parents as needed.
  • Help coordinate fundraising and volunteer efforts for all year around youth programs.
  • Responsible for all training of employees: planning, assigning, participating, and directing work.
  • Perform administrative duties such as statistics, budgeting and reporting to funders.
  • Communicate and build relationships with community agencies and organizations to informed them of youth program activities throughout the year.
  • Attend and participate of at-risk youth programs and activities in Allentown for information and collaboration purposes.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • Associate degree or equivalent from two year college
  • 1-3 years of related experience.
  • Child Protection Clearances PA Act 153 requires that all prospective employees complete the following: clearance and background checks prior to employment: PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check along with renewals every 5 years.
  • Must have an understanding of and appreciation for the Mission of The Salvation Army.
