Beverly YMCA | Weekdays 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Are you passionate about fitness and excited about helping youth build confidence, strength, and healthy habits? Do you enjoy mentoring and motivating young people in a positive, supportive environment? If so, we’d love to connect with you!
The Beverly YMCA is seeking an energetic and knowledgeable Youth Personal Trainer/Instructor to provide safe, engaging, and developmentally appropriate fitness instruction for youth and teens. In this role, you’ll help young participants learn proper technique, build foundational strength, and develop a lifelong appreciation for health and wellness.

Weekdays: 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM
Ideal for someone who enjoys working with youth during after-school hours.
💥 What You’ll Do
- Lead one-on-one and small-group youth training sessions
- Teach proper form, strength fundamentals, and safe equipment use
- Develop age-appropriate fitness programs tailored to ability and goals
- Encourage confidence, accountability, and positive self-esteem
- Monitor workouts to ensure safety and provide modifications as needed
- Create a welcoming, inclusive, and motivating environment for youth participants
- Serve as a positive role model and ambassador of YMCA core values

- Certified Personal Trainer (ACE, NASM, ACSM, NSCA, or equivalent preferred)
- Experience working with youth or teens in fitness, coaching, or athletic settings
- Strong understanding of safe progression and youth strength training principles
- Ability to connect with young people and foster a supportive learning environment
- Enthusiasm, patience, and strong communication skills

Qualifications
- Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in physical education or related field preferred
- Certification from a nationally recognized agency such as ACE, AFFA, ASCM, NSCA, and NSPA

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform all physical aspects of the position; including leading classes and activities, walking, standing, bending, reaching, and lifting
- Must be able to lift 45-pound weight plates
- Must be able to work outside when weather permits
- Must be able to stand for long periods
- Ability to listen, hear, and discern members & program participants' wants, needs, and interests
- Ability to respond to safety and emergencies
- Ability to demonstrate equipment used for exercise training
