Youth Outreach Case Manager (2 Positions)
Bundaberg | Part-Time (0.8 FTE) Permanent | SCHADS Level 4

Some young people need more than a service—they need someone willing to meet them where they're at.
As a Youth Outreach Case Manager, you'll work alongside young people and young families experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, providing practical support, advocacy and genuine connection that helps them build safer, more independent futures.
You will be supporting a young person into stable housing, the next you're helping reconnect them with education, employment, health services or family. Every interaction is an opportunity to create lasting change.

About the role
Working within The Salvation Army's Youth Services, you'll provide intensive, trauma-informed outreach support to young people and young families experiencing homelessness or housing instability.
Using a strengths-based approach, you'll help young people identify their goals, overcome barriers and build the confidence, skills and resilience needed to achieve long-term stability.
You'll work collaboratively with families, community organisations, housing providers, schools and health services to coordinate practical, person-centred support that delivers meaningful outcomes.

Experience supporting young people experiencing homelessness, trauma or other complex challenges.
Strong case management skills with the ability to build meaningful, trusting relationships.
A strengths-based, trauma-informed and person-centred approach to practice.
Confidence working independently in community and outreach settings.
Excellent communication, advocacy and problem-solving skills.
The ability to respond calmly and professionally in complex and changing situations.
A commitment to culturally safe, inclusive practice for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, culturally and linguistically diverse communities and LGBTQIA+ young people.
Essential requirements:
Diploma in Community Services, Youth Work or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
Minimum two years' experience in case management or supporting people with complex needs.
Current Queensland Driver Licence.
Current Working with Children Check (Blue Card).
Current First Aid and CPR Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
Ability to travel throughout the Bundaberg region.

The Royal Children's Hospital (RCH) has been providing outstanding care for Victoria's children and their families for over 147 years.
We are the major specialist paediatric hospital in Victoria and our care extends to children from Tasmania, southern New South Wales and other states around Australia and overseas.
With a passionate, highly skilled and committed staff campus wide of over 5,000, we provide a full range of clinical services, tertiary care and health promotion and prevention programs for children and young people.
We are the designated state-wide major trauma centre for paediatrics in Victoria and a Nationally Funded Centre for cardiac and liver transplantation.
