Job Description

We are working closely alongside a Local Authority in Solihull to assist with the appointment of a Youth Justice Officer, on a 3-month contract, likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: £23.49 - £31.50 per hour

Summary:

A Youth Justice Officer is required to work with children and young people within the Youth Justice Service.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with children and young people involved with the Youth Justice Service.
  • Complete YJS AssetPlus assessments and develop appropriate plans based on individual needs and risks.
  • Complete Prevention and Diversion assessments where required.
  • Manage a caseload effectively and ensure all casework is completed within required timescales.
  • Assess and manage risks and safeguarding concerns relating to children and young people.

Qualifications:

  • Relevant professional qualification in Social Work, Youth Justice or a related field.
  • Qualified Social Workers who are willing to move into a specialist Youth Justice Officer role will be considered.

Essentials:

  • Previous Youth Justice Service (YJS) experience is essential.
  • Experience completing YJS AssetPlus assessments.
  • Experience completing Prevention/Diversion assessment.
  • Strong experience working directly with children and young people.
  • Experience in assessment, case management and risk management.

Please note:

  • You should be available to work immediately or at a short notice.
  • You should have right to work in U.K
  • This role requires an Enhanced DBS
