Job Description

We're a not-for-profit mental health centre based in Calgary, with locations across Alberta. Our mission is to build good mental health and well-being so everyone can thrive in their community.

We are seeking compassionate, dedicated, and resilient Youth & Family Counsellors to join our team in Fort McMurray, Alberta. If you are passionate about supporting youth development and want to make a meaningful impact in the lives of children, youth, and families, we'd love to hear from you.

Please note: Relocation to Fort McMurray is required for this position.

Schedule:
This position follows a rotating 12-hour shift schedule
• Rotation: 4-day shifts, followed by 4 days off, then 4 night shifts, with the rotation repeating on an ongoing basis
• Day Shifts: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM
• Night Shifts: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Key Responsibilities:
• Build positive and supportive relationships with children, youth and families.
• Provide therapeutic, trauma-informed care within a structured residential setting.
• Support youth in developing life skills, emotional regulation, and healthy relationships.
• Participate in case planning, team meetings, and ongoing professional development.
• Collaborate with families, schools, healthcare providers, and community partners.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure a safe, supportive environment.
• Assist with daily program operations, including transportation, meal preparation, household tasks, and recreational activities.
• Respond effectively to crisis situations and provide emotional support as needed.

Qualifications:
• Diploma or Undergraduate Degree in the Social Sciences, Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Nursing.
• Current proof of professional registration may be required for certain diplomas or degrees.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with children, youth, or families.
• Current First Aid and CPR Certification.
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License, reliable transportation and Drivers Abstract with no more than 6 demerits.
• Ability to work rotating 12-hour day and night shifts.
• Willingness to relocate to Fort McMurray.
