In the U.S., the standard base pay range for this role is outlined below. This base pay range is for the U.S. and is not applicable to locations outside of the United States.
The anticipated hourly rate for this position can range from $18-$20 an hourdepending on relevant education, experience, and location.
YoungLives Tulare County is on the lookout for a YoungLives Mission Staff member. We’re looking for a creative person who loves planning and executing fun events to connect with adolescent parents as part of our 35-year-old ministry. YoungLives Tulare County is ready to hire, our volunteer team is ready to be led, and there are many adolescent parents here who need to know that they’re loved by God.
The YoungLives Mission Staff role requires a dynamic, vibrant personality to lead alongside the Area Coordinator in Tulare County. This person must operate independently with minimal supervision, be highly organized and motivated, and be a visionary leader. They must inspire and motivate volunteers in the ministry and feel comfortable leading relationships with adolescents, volunteers, donors, and community leaders.
This staff person will oversee weekly events like clubs, bible studies, and contact work in the area, working with the five other staff leading Young Life ministries in the area. Since this role primarily works with under-age females, a female candidate is preferred.
Responsibilities:
Recruit, train, mobilize and retain leaders, childcare and other volunteers.
Provide leadership in assessing and meeting the social needs, spiritual formation and consistent relational connection with adolescent parents.
Meet regularly with the volunteer team for ongoing training, ministry planning and community building.
Implement the 5 C's of Young Life: contact work, club, Campaigners + discipleship, camp, committee.
Raise personal and ministry funds as determined by the supervisor.
Ensure administrative requirements are handled with excellence and on time.
Comply with volunteer management procedures concerning YoungLives volunteers.
Develop relationships with schools, adolescent parenting programs, crisis pregnancy centers and other applicable community organizations.
Attend all established training, staff meetings and required events.
Ensure alignment and integration with the broader Young Life team in Tulare County.
Qualifications:
Commitment to a growing relationship with Christ.
Ability to clearly communicate the Gospel.
Ability to clearly communicate Young Life’s mission and the vision for YoungLives.
Experience leading and training teams of volunteers.
Ability to lead school season and summer camp trips.
Proven relational skills with both adolescents and adults.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Self-motivated, organized, and punctual.
Strong commitment to professionalism.
Commitment to excellence in administrative leadership.
Goal-oriented.
Ability to invest and learn the ethics of trauma-informed care.
Understand the unique issues faced by pregnant and parenting adolescent parents.
Able to maintain confidentiality.
Bi-lingual (Spanish) is a plus!
