Why Your Role Matters

The Yoga Sculpt Instructor is responsible for leading high-energy, safe, and results-driven classes that combine yoga, strength training, and functional movement. This role enhances participants’ strength, flexibility, endurance, and confidence while creating an inclusive and motivating environment. The instructor plays a key role in supporting overall wellness and helping members of all fitness levels reach their personal goals.

How You Make an Impact

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver dynamic Yoga Sculpt classes that integrate yoga flows, resistance training, and cardio elements.
  • Design well-balanced class sequences that prioritize proper alignment, functional movement, and overall safety.
  • Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on guidance to ensure proper form and technique.
  • Offer modifications and progressions to accommodate participants of varying fitness levels, abilities, and experience.
  • Create an energizing and inclusive class atmosphere that motivates and empowers participants.
  • Ensure the safe and effective use of equipment such as light weights, resistance bands, and yoga props.
  • Monitor participants throughout class to promote safety and respond appropriately to injuries or concerns.
  • Arrive prepared with structured class plans and curated, engaging music playlists.
  • Build strong relationships with participants to encourage retention and a sense of community.
  • Stay current with industry trends, training methods, and continuing education in yoga and fitness.
  • Support studio or organization initiatives, programs, and events through active member engagement.
  • Complete attendance tracking, incident reports, and other required documentation as needed.
  • Participate in staff meetings, trainings, and ongoing professional development.
  • Lead by example, fostering a positive, respectful, and wellness-focused environment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Y

  • Certified Yoga Instructor (minimum 200-hour; 300-hour preferred).
  • Yoga Sculpt or similar format certification preferred, or equivalent experience teaching this style.
  • 2+ years of experience teaching yoga classes that incorporate strength training or power-based elements.
  • Current CPR/AED certification required
  • Experience teaching Yoga Sculpt, Power Yoga, or similar hybrid group fitness classes.
  • Strong knowledge of anatomy, alignment, and injury prevention.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confidence and presence in leading group fitness classes.
  • Ability to motivate and engage a diverse range of participants.
  • Skill in creating energizing and appropriate music playlists.
  • Passion for health, wellness, and community building.
  • Availability to teach evenings (Monday and Wednesday 5:30–6:30 PM) and preferably Saturdays (10:45–11:45 AM).
