Salary Range: $10.00 - $11.50

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Housekeeping staff shall assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the Camp Carson buildings and grounds. The Housekeeping staff will be responsible for cleaning and sanitizing assigned areas.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure YMCA Camp Carson is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintain daily upkeep of assigned area and equipment.
- Perform duties in an efficient and timely manner such that any part of camp is available for a tour.
- Perform janitorial duties which include, but are not limited to, wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, room set up, vacuuming, and general cleaning as requested or needed.
- Record all needed repairs, and report ALL repairs to supervisor
- Ensure Camps building and property is secure during shift and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor.
- Replaces soap, paper towels, toilet paper and other supplies
- Operate motorized equipment used for cleaning.
- Assist in meeting and maintaining standards set forth by OSHA, YMCA, and ACA as they pertain to this department.
- Ability to read and interpret instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment.
- Basic understanding of the upkeep and care of the equipment used for cleaning.
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
- Willingness to learn and share new and better methods of cleaning.
- Other activities and duties that address the ongoing health and well-being of our staff and members

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Sufficient physical strength and agility to carry out essential functions
- Work with cleaning equipment, chemical compounds, solvents, cleaners, and solutions in dry, liquid, powder, spray, and aerosol forms.
- Ability to clean equipment, and operate motorized equipment as needed.
- Work in conditions that will create dirt and dust.
- Perform essential cleaning to facility or equipment which may involve, but not limited to the following activities: semi – reaching to full-reach overhead; crouching; kneeling; twisting of the waist, shoulders, and legs

QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS:
- Ability to accept supervision and guidance
- Ability to prioritize and complete multiple tasks
- Perform all work responsibilities, reflecting the YMCA core values of honesty, respect, responsibility, caring and faith.
- Possess enthusiasm, a good sense of humor, patience, and self-control
- Knowledge of cleaning methods and equipment, along with basic understanding of the upkeep and care of equipment
- Understanding of cleaning compounds and chemicals, and their safe, efficient use
- A commitment to working with a diverse staff and camper population to the fulfillment of YMCA goals
- Certified in CPR/AED, First Aid, Oxygen and Bloodborne Pathogen training required within 60 days of start date
- Child Abuse Prevention training required before/on first day of working with youth
