Job Summary:
The Yardman is responsible for assisting the Yard Foreman in maintaining yard inventory and filling customer orders from the yard.
Supervisory Responsibilities:- None.
Duties/Responsibilities:- Help every customer in a courteous manner and load all orders properly to match the yard ticket. - Keep inventory neatly in the proper spot and leveled.- Sweep, clean, and organize all sheds. - Pick up all trash around the yard. - At times, man the yard gate. Check orders to make sure that the inventory leaving is the same as the yard ticket. - Ensure that yard is secure and safe (i.e., no broken fences, gate locked at closing).- Follow safety procedures and PPE requirements such as yard hats, gloves, goggles, glasses. - Follow uniform policies such as high visibility vests and shirts while working. - Training. - Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities: - Thorough understanding of or the ability to quickly learn yard processes and heavy machinery
- Capacity to take direction
- Excellent organizational skills
Education and Experience:- Highschool Diploma or equivalent
- Previous yard experience preferred
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
Compensation: $14.50 per hour
