Job Description

ROLE: Yardi Systems Administrator
Salary: $3,500 USD/Monthly

We are seeking a highly skilled Yardi Systems Administrator to serve as the sole internal owner, technical expert, and platform strategist for our Yardi ecosystem. Our firm primarily invests in commercial retail real estate, meaning our operations require a deep understanding of complex retail leasing structures, intricate CAM reconciliations, and variable sales tracking.

In this role, you will bridge the gap between our technology stack and our business operations. You will be responsible for system configuration, user permissions, database health, custom reporting, and onboarding new retail assets. The ideal candidate doesn't just know how to configure Yardi—they understand the underlying financial and operational mechanics of commercial retail real estate.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • System Administration & Optimization
    • Serve as the primary point of contact and subject matter expert (SME) for all things related to Yardi Voyager (Commercial/Retail module) and integrated applications (e.g., CommercialCafe, Yardi Advanced Budgeting & Forecasting).
    • Manage user provisioning, custom security roles, workflow approvals, and system menus to ensure data security and compliance.
    • Lead the technical onboarding, data migration, and setup of newly acquired commercial retail assets into the Yardi database.
    • Monitor, test, and implement Yardi system updates, plug-ins, and new module rollouts, ensuring zero disruption to daily business operations.
  • Retail Operations & Financial Support
    • Support the property management and accounting teams with complex, retail-specific configurations, including Common Area Maintenance (CAM) setups, tax/insurance reconciliations, and recovery configurations
    • Oversee the technical setup and execution of Percentage Rent parameters, gross sales tracking, and variable retail leasing structures.
    • Troubleshoot system errors related to retail lease administration, tenant billings, and recurring charge schedules.
  • Reporting & Business Intelligence
    • Design, develop, and maintain custom reports and dashboards using Yardi Spreadsheet Reporting (YSR), Yardi Correspondence, or SQL/SSRS to support executive decision-making.
    • Collaborate with asset management and finance teams to optimize data flow, automate manual workarounds, and ensure data integrity across all portfolios.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Yardi Expertise: Minimum of 3–5 years of hands-on administration experience specifically within Yardi Voyager Commercial/Retail (Applications with purely residential or multifamily experience will not be considered).
  • Industry Knowledge: Solid understanding of commercial real estate accounting principles, commercial lease logic, and retail recovery mechanics (CAM, recurring charges, overage rent).
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency with Yardi database structures, database mapping, and writing custom reports (YSR, Yardi Script, or basic SQL query writing).
  • Preferred/Nice-to-Have:
    • Experience with Yardi Advanced Budgeting & Forecasting (ABF).
    • Experience implementing or managing CommercialCafe or tenant portals.
    • Prior experience working at a commercial real estate investment, asset management, or development firm.
  • Soft Skills:
    • Strong analytical troubleshooting skills—someone who loves solving complex data puzzles.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical jargon into clear business insights for non-technical team members.
    • Self-motivated and comfortable acting as the sole, go-to Yardi expert in the organization.

WORKING REQUIREMENTS

  • Fully remote
  • Fluent in English
  • Will work 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM US Eastern Time (EST)
