Your role

Due to continuing growth we are looking for an additional Senior Support Officer for our Yardi real estate platform with particular expertise in loan accounting and reporting.

The Yardi Senior Support Officer is responsible for supporting the end users of the accounting system and other business solutions and will work directly with business users and software administrators to deliver solutions in a fast-paced environment. They act as key point of contact for the business applications. The Support Officer will act as a solutions specialist with no people management requirement, with a specific remit relating to loan accounting and the automation of both intercompany and external debt management for client fund structures.

An ideal candidate has strong analytical and troubleshooting skills and is comfortable with working on multiple tasks and projects concurrently. They will also be comfortable explaining technical concepts to stakeholders. This role suits someone who is a self-starter, quick learner, capable of grasping new concepts quickly and consistently delivers results in a client-focused culture.

Previous experience with loan accounting is essential, and experience of Yardi for investment funds in an operations or support role is highly desirable.

Your responsibilities

  • Review and resolve (in collaboration with IT support where necessary) user technical issues related to the operation of the Yardi system, particularly in relation to loan accounting and reporting.
  • Have a leading role in Yardi Debt Manager implementations, including the set-up of loans in the system, automation of loan accounting, and gathering of requirements for custom reporting.
  • Work with the European Real Estate operations team leads to ensure best practices are used consistently across our Real Estate service offerings.
  • Work with EMEA Real Estate Platform Leader and Technical Manager to review, suggest, and implement process improvements to ensure compliance adherence across Real Estate accounting/operations group.
  • Have a strong understanding of the tools and resources needed to meet deliverables.
  • Assist in the design and delivery of training materials & plans, ensure teams are adequately trained, and provide feedback to trainees and trainer where appropriate on gaps that need to be addressed.
  • Coach and support operations team members in the best practice use of the system and adoption of new functionality.
  • Provide training and guidance to more junior members of the Platform Delivery Team.

Your profile

  • Experience of loan accounting, preferably under IFRS or a similar global GAAP, is essential.
  • A strong understanding of the concepts of debt products, including bonds and different types of loans, is highly desirable.
  • Experience of investment fund structures in an accounting or other operational role is essential, preferably in relation to real estate investments.
  • Experience working with formal, structured, rules-based accounting systems (other than excel or generic spreadsheet tools) is essential.
  • Experience of Yardi software, particularly Debt Manager, is highly desirable but not essential for this role.

The following characteristics are also essential for candidates:

  • Excellent written communication and documentation skills, with experience preparing clear documentation, operating procedures or user guides.
  • Confident interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively within a multi-stakeholder support environment, engaging with a wide range of colleagues from technical vendor teams to non-technical end-users.
  • Organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple workstreams simultaneously.
