Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Yardi Platform Subject Matter Expert (SME) with deep knowledge of real estate fund accounting, asset-level reporting, and investment operations. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise across Yardi modules such as Voyager, Investment Management, Fund Accounting, Advanced Budgeting & Forecasting, and Job Cost, and will play a critical role in optimizing platform usage, driving enhancements, and supporting complex fund structures.

This senior role partners with operations, technology, product, and client-facing teams to ensure Yardi is configured, maintained, and used to deliver accurate, efficient, and scalable real estate fund administration and reporting workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Yardi Platform Ownership & Expertise

  • Serve as the internal SME for all Yardi real estate fund–related modules, ensuring best-practice configuration and end-to-end process design.
  • Lead the development and maintenance of Yardi workflows covering fund accounting, property accounting, investment structures, and investor reporting.
  • Oversee system configuration including chart of accounts, intercompany relationships, automation setups, consolidations, and reporting structures.

Real Estate Fund & Investment Support

  • Support complex real estate fund structures (open-end, closed-end, commingled funds, separate accounts).
  • Ensure accurate processing and reporting of capital calls, distributions, waterfalls, fee calculations, cashflows, and NAV cycles.
  • Validate asset-level data flows, consolidations, valuation inputs, and performance metrics within Yardi.
  • Maintain data integrity between property-level and fund-level modules.

Business Requirements & Process Improvement

  • Partner with accounting, operations, and technology teams to gather requirements and design scalable, efficient workflows in Yardi.
  • Identify and implement system enhancements to support evolving business needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Document process flows, SOPs, configuration guidelines, and data standards for internal teams.

Implementation, Upgrades & Project Delivery

  • Lead and support Yardi implementation or expansion initiatives, including system design, UAT, data migration, and go-live readiness.
  • Oversee testing cycles for upgrades, patches, and newly developed functionalities.
  • Work with Yardi support and internal technology teams to troubleshoot system issues and develop long-term solutions.

Testing & Quality Assurance

  • Create and execute test plans and scenarios for new modules, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Validate calculations such as IRR, MOIC, distribution waterfalls, management fees, leverage metrics, and asset valuations.
  • Own defect tracking, resolution, and final release sign-off for Yardi-related updates.

Training & Stakeholder Support

  • Provide training and guidance to fund accounting teams, property accounting teams, and operational users.
  • Support client-facing teams by explaining system capabilities, reporting logic, and data flows.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex Yardi-related operational queries.

Required Experience & Qualifications

  • 5–10+ years of hands-on experience with Yardi, ideally including Voyager, Investment Management, Fund Accounting, or related modules.
  • Strong understanding of real estate fund accounting, property operations, and investment reporting.
  • Experience designing workflows for capital events, NAV cycles, consolidations, valuations, and waterfall models in Yardi.
  • Ability to translate business needs into system requirements and functional specifications.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to review and validate complex financial outputs.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Yardi integrations (property management systems, data warehouses, reporting engines, banking platforms).
  • Familiarity with SQL or reporting tools for data extraction, validation, and analysis.
  • Exposure to regulatory frameworks (AIFMD, INREV, SEC requirements) in real estate investment contexts.

Experience in fund administration, private equity real estate, or a real estate investment manager
