PermanentAs Yard Technician you will be tasked with performing physical/administrative duties regarding shipping, receiving, storing, preparation and distribution of parts and equipment within the depot, including activities such as ready to rent checks and first line maintenance.

Main Duties
Optimize the Depot stock and secure storage for parts
Receive all deliveries and expedite the delivery of equipment including offloading, refueling, packing, loading of equipment and managing courier schedules.
Maintain files, logs, records of invoices, purchase orders, and other related documentation in M3
Order miscellaneous consumables for the warehouse / workshop.
Operate the forklift.
Provide hands-on support for S&M Engineers upon request, draining fluids, prepping or assisting with service and maintenance work
Carry out cable & ancillary equipment preparation and general yard/service duties in line with company guidelines and procedures
Monitor certification of ancillaries and provide support in maintaining the certification.
Take receipt of the fleet reporting off-hire details promptly to the Operations desk,
Identify parts and procedures required to complete repairs using M3 timeously.
You will be expected to support external contracts, as and when required
Role may include safety officer’s responsibilities in the warehouse / workshop.
Take ownership of the application of all QHSSE policies.
Specific Skills:
Electrical and mechanical background is an asset
Strong oral and written communication skills

Physical requirements:
While performing duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and climb machine ladders
Noise levels low to moderate
Must work outside and be subject to adverse weather conditions
Able to lift 23kg on a regular basis
Able to lift 50kg (max) incidentally
Frequent bending, standing, lifting and ongoing physical activity
Knowledge:
Knowledge of Generators, TC & Associated equipment
Working experience of mechanical and electrical / electronic systems.

Education & Experience:
Minimum of a 2-year engineering apprenticeship or equivalent.
Minimum of three years’ experience in a concurrent job
Driver’s license
Experience in handling truck-trailer combinations
ADR trained
Health and Safety certified
First aid certified
Crane Certified
Forklift certified
Certificate to be able to work on heights
