Job Description

Yard & Shipping/Receiving - A hands-on role combining shipping & receiving with daily yard operations.

Manulift is the Canadian leader in telescopic forklifts and the exclusive distributor of Merlo equipment in Canada. As we continue to grow across the country, our operations team plays a critical role in making sure the right equipment gets to the right place, at the right time.

We’re looking for a Yard & Shipping/Receiving technician who enjoys working with their hands, staying active, operating equipment and seeing the direct impact of their work.

This is not a traditional warehouse role. It’s a dynamic mix of shipping and receiving, equipment handling and hands-on yard operations. Your days will include receiving and preparing equipment, coordinating with carriers, moving machines around the yard, managing parts and inventory, and supporting our internal teams.

Reporting to the Parts Manager, you’ll help keep our equipment, yard and warehouse organized, safe and ready for the next move.

Main responsibilities:

Yard & Equipment Operations

  • Receive and ship new Manulift equipment and attachments according to established procedures;
  • Guide carriers during the loading and unloading of equipment;
  • Move and position machines and attachments throughout the yard;
  • Perform basic inspections upon arrival and identify damage, missing parts or discrepancies;
  • Refuel equipment and perform basic operational checks;
  • Perform repetitive operation tests on units according to established procedures;
  • Ensure equipment and attachments are properly positioned, identified and ready for their next destination;
  • Keep the yard clean, organized and safe;
  • Coordinate daily equipment movements with the Rental, Transport and Service teams.

Shipping & Receiving

  • Receive and unload parts and equipment from suppliers and carriers;
  • Verify quantities, condition and documentation against purchase orders;
  • Enter received orders into the ERP system and maintain accurate inventory records;
  • Prepare and ship customer orders and inter-branch transfers;
  • Participate in daily inventory updates and annual physical inventory;
  • Maintain an organized and efficient warehouse/work area;
  • Support technicians and other internal teams with parts and equipment when needed.

Experience and desired skills:

We’re looking for someone who likes being active, takes ownership and gets things done.

  • Experience operating material-handling, lifting or industrial equipment;
  • Experience with heavy equipment, machinery, logistics or a similar environment is an asset;
  • Valid Class 5 driver's license;
  • Good physical condition and comfortable working outdoors and around heavy equipment;
  • Strong sense of responsibility and safety;
  • Organized and able to manage multiple priorities;
  • Reliable, punctual and consistent;
  • Hands-on, resourceful and willing to learn;
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where priorities can change;
  • Team player who communicates well with others;
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and ERP systems is an asset.

Why Manulift ?

Because you’ll see the impact of your work every day.

The equipment you receive, prepare and move through the yard is going directly to our customers, sales teams, rental operations and branches across the country. You’re an important link between our equipment arriving at Manulift and getting where it needs to go.

We offer:

  • Competitive salary based on experience;
  • Monday to Friday, daytime schedule;
  • Overtime opportunities;
  • Work clothing and safety boots provided;
  • Telemedicine from day one through Telus Health;
  • Group insurance paid 75% by Manulift;
  • Group RRSP and DPSP;
  • Physical activity allowance;
  • Team activities, recognition events and family days;
  • Collaborative leadership and a strong team environment;
  • Generous referral bonus of up to $5,000, depending on the position.

If you’re looking for a hands-on job where every day is different, enjoy working around heavy equipment, and want to play an important role in keeping the operation moving, this could be the right fit for you.
