Summary

This position is responsible for the daily scanning of vehicles throughout the site to identify locations. This position will walk from vehicle to vehicle scanning bar codes, and verifying VIN numbers according to the information listed on the scanner. All duties will be performed in accordance to GLOVIS process and procedures. Must be open to overtime.

Compensation

$22.55 per hour

Responsibilities

Scan and verify VIN numbers of vehicles

• Walk unit to unit to scan vehicles in the lot at the VPC entrance side
• Use a hand-held scanner to scan vehicle bar codes and verify VIN numbers

Timely and accurate completion of assigned tasks

• Work at a rapid pace, while following company standards/procedures, safety guidelines, and colors being used.
• Report any issues to the supervisors' attention immediately

Effective communication

• Communicate effectively with internal/external customers, peers, and supervisors to meet and exceed customer expectation
• Stay well-informed of any changes in tasks or policies and procedures

Skills

• Employees assigned to vehicle processing and accessory installation functions that utilize English-only client work orders must be able to read and understand English-language instructions and documentation necessary to safely and accurately complete assigned tasks
• Knowledge of hand held electronics

Education & Experience

• H.S Diploma/G.E.D Required
• Valid state driver's license Required

Physical Requirements

• Will be operating computer, copy/fax machine, hand-held scanners
• Frequent use of hand/grasping- for scanner and computer
• Stand, walk constantly 5+hrs per day
• Driver, bend, stoop, reach over shoulder, push, pull, squat, crouch frequently 3-5hrs per day
• Sit, climb, kneel, balance, crawl, jump 1-3hrs per day
• Lift and carry up to 35lbs seldomly
