PermanentFinning – The Cat Rental Store is seeking a Yard Person to support our Trench Shoring division in Edmonton.

  • Day to day yard activity including:

    • Moving equipment back to proper storage areas

    • Assist customers and delivery drivers in yard, loading and unloading equipment; helping direct them to office or unloading areas

  • Maintains yard organization and cleanliness to align with Finning's housekeeping and safety standards

  • Accurately process all incoming and outgoing paperwork

  • All other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Minimum three months of operating experience of rough terrain forklift, counterbalance forklift, compact construction equipment, large construction equipment is an asset

  • Familiarity with heavy equipment or a similar industry would be considered an asset

  • Previous heavy equipment operation experience is an asset

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with effective verbal and written communication skills

  • Familiarity with computers

  • Solid understanding of rental/shoring equipment and possess sufficient mechanical skills to perform and/or recommend minor equipment repairs

  • Committed to a safe work environment, able to work with minimal supervision

  • Due to physical nature of the work, a requirement of the job is to be considered fit for work

Important Information:

  • This position is based in Edmonton on a Monday - Friday shift

  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Candidate selection will be in compliance with the Terms & Conditions of the current Collective Agreement

  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
