NHS Trade have a permanent full-time Yard Person role available based at our Cardiff branch.

What does a Yard Person do at NHS?

The Yard Person is a hands on physical role that handles products such as Plasterboard (and other Sheet products), Timber, and Hardware items. The Yard Person ensures our racks and shelves are adequately stocked and that our customers orders are picked safely, correctly and efficiently. Some specific duties a Yard Person does can include:

• Picking of products for various customer orders
• Loading of NHS Utes and Trucks
• Assisting with pass-ups for onsite deliveries
• Stocking and re-stocking products in racks and bays
• Maintaining a clean and safe work area
• Conducting stock counts
• Participating in stocktakes
• Participating in frequent toolbox meetings

What we are looking for:

We are looking for someone that likes to keep busy, enjoys an active and busy role, and keeps a clean, tidy, and well organised work area. This person must:

• Have a Safety First, Safety Second mindset
• Follow Safe Work Instructions (SWI’s)
• Be punctual and reliable in attending work
• Be physically fit (as frequent and repetitive lifting and carrying is an inherent requirement of this role)
• Have a current driver's licence (Provisional licence or above)
• Have or willing and able to obtain a Forklift ticket

This position will involve a Pre-employment Medical Assessment, including a Drug & Alcohol Screen, as well as a Background Check as part of the recruitment process. All NHS positions are subject to ongoing random Drug and Alcohol testing.
