Yard Manager

Full-Time | Farm & Home Hardware


This role is for a leader who doesn’t manage from the sidelines.

Farm & Home Hardware is seeking a hands-on Yard Manager who actively works alongside the yard team while overseeing all yard operations to ensure work is done safely, efficiently, and to standard. You’ll be accountable not just for getting the job done—but for how it’s done.

What You’ll Do

• Actively perform all yard duties, including:
  
  
  • Loading and unloading materials
    
    
  • Operating forklifts and yard equipment
    
    
  • Assisting customers with pickups
    
    
  • Maintaining yard organization and cleanliness
    
    
• Oversee and direct daily yard activities
  
  
  • Ensure tasks are completed correctly, safely, and on time
    
    
  • Monitor workflow, prioritize tasks, and solve problems as they arise
    
    
  • Correct issues in real time and coach staff as needed
    
    
• Lead, and train the yard team
  
  
• Enforce safety procedures and equipment standards
  
  
• Coordinate with store leadership, drivers, and vendors
  
  
• Take ownership of inventory flow and yard presentation

• Experience in a yard, lumber, construction supply, or agricultural environment
  
  
• Proven ability to lead while working
  
  
• Strong understanding of safe equipment operation
  
  
• Confidence holding standards and giving direction
  
  
• Ability to work outdoors year-round and perform physical labor

Compensation: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour
