Job Description

Our client, a well-established local contractor, is seeking a Yard Manager to oversee operations at their facility in Emly, Co. Tipperary The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the yard, including equipment handling, stock control, and coordination of deliveries and collections. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with strong organisational skills and a proactive approach to site logistics.

To be successful in this role, the preferred candidate will be forklift qualified, have manual handling certification, and ideally possess experience in the agriculture sector

Key Responsibilities:

1. Manage daily yard operations including loading, unloading, and organising materials.
2. Operate forklifts and other machinery safely and efficiently.
3. Maintain accurate records of stock, deliveries, and collections.
4. Ensure the yard is kept clean, safe, and well-organised at all times.
5. Coordinate with site teams and suppliers to ensure timely dispatch and receipt of goods.
6. Monitor equipment and report any maintenance or repair needs.
7. Implement and adhere to health & safety procedures.
8. Assist with inventory checks and stock management.
9. Support general site logistics and provide assistance to project teams when required.

Requirements:

1. Valid forklift licence and manual handling certification.
2. Previous experience in a yard or warehouse role.
3. Experience in the agriculture or construction sector is desirable.
4. Strong organisational and time management skills.
5. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
6. Good communication skills and attention to detail.
