East Penn Manufacturing, a world class leader in lead-acid battery manufacturing, is seeking experienced Yard Jockey Drivers Join our high-performing team where precision, safety, and innovation drive success. We're hiring experienced CDL-A Drivers who thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced, and team-oriented environment. This role not only offers an opportunity to contribute to the manufacturing and delivery of high-quality products but also provides a pathway for career advancement within our organization.

Average wages ranging from $29 - $30 per hour.

Consistent schedule and guaranteed 40 hours with opportunity for overtime.

Positions available on 2nd and 3rd shift.

2nd shift hours Monday thru Friday - 3:00pm-11:00pm

3rd shift hours Sunday thru Thursday - 10:45pm-6:45am

Responsibilities

Uses a tractor to transport trailers from one location to another.

  • At times, is required to move trailers from plant to plant.
  • Uses yard truck to move oxide trailer to plants and hooks up blower to unload oxide into storage bins.
  • Occasionally has to manually load lead ingots and junk batteries on skids, lifting 40‑75 lbs.
  • Move straight trucks to docks, scan pallets to locations, and move pallets off the trucks to trailers.
  • Is responsible for general pretrip and post trip inspections
  • Expected to be able to material handle as needed.
  • Is required to keep area clean and free of oxide.

Qualifications

Class "A" Commerical Drivers License with endorsements for air brakes and Hamzat required

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Basic Reading Skills
  • Basic Math Skills (adding, subtracting, dividing, multiplying)
  • Basic Computer Skills (ability to interact with computer screens)
  • Understands mechanics of truck and able to diagnose problems
  • Ability to maintain regular attendance
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers
