Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate yard trucks or hostlers to move trailers between the loading docks and designated yard locations.

• Ensure proper parking, staging, and organization of trailers in the yard.

• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections on yard trucks to ensure safe operation.

• Maintain accurate records of trailer movements and report any discrepancies or issues.

• Collaborate with the Warehouse and Logistics teams to ensure the efficient flow of goods in and out of the facility.

• Assist with loading and unloading as needed, following safety protocols.

• Monitor yard cleanliness and safety, ensuring no hazards are present.

• Coordinate with truck drivers to ensure proper trailer positioning for pickup or drop-off.

• Report any mechanical issues or equipment malfunctions to the supervisor or maintenance team.

• Adhere to all safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

• Previous experience in yard hostling, warehouse, or logistics is preferred.

• Ability to operate yard trucks or hostlers in a safe and efficient manner.

• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with team members.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

• Basic understanding of safety regulations and the ability to follow safety protocols.

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks as required.

Preferred Skills:

• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.

• Forklift certification is a plus.

• Bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Work Environment:

• This position will be based in a warehouse/distribution center environment, with exposure to varying temperatures.

• Shifts may vary, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
