Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Yard Hand to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the yard, as well as assisting with loading and unloading of materials and equipment. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

• The depot, specifically the yard, store/shed areas and all associated equipment is maintained to RAM’s standards.
• Minimal stand-down time with the efficient operation and maintenance of the wash-down bay.
• All equipment and customer hire orders are prepared on time, with efficient cleaning of all equipment to RAM standards upon return.
• Off-hire inspections completed.

• Support the workshop through general maintenance and cleaning, ensuring stock levels of all consumables are maintained and any other workshop assistance required.
• Assist customers and drivers to load and unload equipment to ensure customer/driver turn around is a smooth process. Undertake pick-ups and deliveries as directed and assist in receiving stock, equipment and sundry deliveries when required.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Previous experience in a similar role preferred
• Ability to operate forklifts and other heavy machinery
• Basic knowledge of tools and equipment used in a yard setting
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Mechanical aptitude
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
