Job Description

The Yard Driver for our Baltimore, MD facility will be responsible for moving trailers and equipment within a warehouse yard, distribution center, or shipping facility

Pay: $23

Shift: 1st 7am-330pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Trailer, Tanker, and Can(Roll-off) Movement
  • Move loaded and empty trailers, tankers, and cans(roll-off) between docks, staging areas, and yard parking areas
  • Position equipment at warehouse doors, operating pads, and staging areas for loading/unloading
  • Shuttle equipment between different buildings or staging areas
  • Yard Organization
  • Keep the yard arranged in an orderly and efficient layout
  • Place equipment in assigned spots based on schedules or priorities
  • Ensure easy access for incoming and outgoing trucks
  • Equipment Operation
  • Operate yard trucks (spotter trucks/terminal tractors) safely
  • Perform basic equipment checks before and after use
  • Report mechanical issues or damages immediately
  • Dock, Tanker, Can (Roll-off) Support
  • Assist all dock and operating processor workers by delivering trailers, tankers, and cans when needed
  • Ensure trailers, tankers, and cans (roll-off) are properly secured and aligned at the dock, operating pad, and or staging areas
  • Check that brakes, chocks, and locks are correctly applied
  • Documentation & Communication
  • Track equipment locations using yard systems or paperwork
  • Communicate with department managers, supervisors, leads, warehouse staff, and drivers
  • Record movement logs and equipment status
  • Safety Compliance
  • Follow OSHA and company safety rules
  • Drive at safe speeds within the yard
  • Watch for pedestrians, forklifts, and other hazards
  • Secure loads and verify trailer condition before moving
  • Inspection Duties
  • Inspect trailers, tankers, and cans for damage, leaks, or safety concerns
  • Check lights, tires, doors, and seals
  • Report any issues before trailers, tankers, and or cans are loaded or shipped

What does it take to work at Clean Harbors?

  • High School diploma or equivalent required;
  • Must be 18 years or older;
  • 1+ Years of related experience;
  • Fork lift experience preferred (Not Required);
  • Ability to use computer;
  • Ability to lift 50 or more pounds;
