The purpose of this position is to facilitate and maintain orderly and efficient flow of inventory for the rental yard. This individual is responsible for the inflow and outflow of equipment in the Rental Yard. This position will work to serve and satisfy the needs of the rental division which includes washing and staging machines, helping customer load and unload rental equipment, and keeping the rental yard organized.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the shipping of new, used, rental, and demo equipment.
  • Assist with loading and unloading equipment with customers and 3rd party shipping companies.
  • Responsible for initiating and completing INSPCT templates for the purpose of loss mitigation of Fabick rental equipment.
  • Receive new equipment and associated attachments per the defined business process. Assign, print, and attach barcodes to equipment and attachments.
  • Generate and send a receiver for new and used machines to the rental and sales department per the defined business process.
  • Assist in the preparation and presentation of equipment to showcase to customers.
  • Verify and resolve shipping and receiving errors.
  • Comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, and government regulations.
  • Examine contents and compare with records, such as manifests, invoices, or orders, to verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing equipment.
  • Take pictures of the equipment, and ensure all machines meet Fabick quality and standards before leaving the yard; check equipment for accuracy of the following: serial numbers, correct hour meter reading, attachments, and any damage on returned equipment.
  • Take pictures of damage as needed; when damage is identified, notify the service supervisor in conjunction with sending all supporting documentation immediately.
  • Conduct monthly physical inventory audits for the location to which you are employed. Make sure all equipment and attachments are barcoded and scanned.
  • Reconcile inventory reports and locate missing items.
  • Submit inventory reports and communicate disparities to Department heads.
  • Maintain an organized yard, keeping it free from excessive debris and trash.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Minimum education requirement is a high school diploma or GED. Technical, vocational, or trade school education desired.
  • 3 or more years of experience in operating heavy machinery, shipping, receiving and general yard duties preferred.
  • Ability to work outside 85-90% of the day.
  • Strong Customer service skills required.
  • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to move equipment around the yard is required.
  • Ability to manage time and multitask with little to no supervision required.
  • Must have heavy equipment experience.
  • Exhibit a high level of urgency and ownership.
  • Ability to operate and move equipment safely within the rental yard.

Physical Requirements:

In addition to being able to sit, stand, walk, read, talk, write and hear, to perform the essential functions of this job an individual must be able to do the following additional activities: Occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Accommodations will be made if they are reasonable, do not create an undue hardship, and will enable an individual with a disability to safely perform the essential job functions. The following may be expected to be encountered: long periods of standing, periodic exposure to seasonal heat and cold, working with oils and greases, noise, shift work as needed - 1st and 2nd, working outside, stooping, bending, squatting, or working in a prone position.
