Job Description

This is a part-time position reporting to the Youth Development Coordinator. The Y-Time Lead oversees the daily operations of the Y-Time program and potential Kids Night Out programming, including staff supervision and scheduling.

In collaboration with the Youth Development Coordinator, this role ensures a safe, enriching, and developmentally appropriate experience for all participants while fostering a welcoming environment that supports the well-being and engagement of every child.

Program Overview

  • Age Groups: Primarily ages 1-8 (up to age 12 for select programs)
  • Program Types: Y-Time and Kids Night Out
  • Weekly Hours: Up to 14 hours per week

Schedule & Commitment

  • Monday - Thursday: 8:45 AM - 11:15 AM
  • Schedule may vary based on program needs
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of Y-Time and Kids Night Out programs
  • Supervise, support, and help schedule program staff
  • Engage children in a safe, fun, and developmentally appropriate environment
  • Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum
  • Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff
  • Ensure a welcoming, inclusive, and structured program environment
  • Maintain accurate attendance records and program rosters
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized program space

Professional Expectations

  • Demonstrate reliability and flexibility with scheduling
  • Model YMCA values and mission in all interactions
  • Follow organizational policies and procedures
  • Physically able to lead activities and lift up to 25 lbs
  • Respond quickly and appropriately in emergency situations

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Previous experience working with youth and families preferred
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Must pass YMCA background check
  • Complete required training within 30 days of hire
  • CPR and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain
