What you’ll do
Performs and processes medical digital images, position patients for exams, transports patients, and provides other routine assistance to radiology staff in the surgical center by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities/Duties:
Effectively performs radiographic services by operating imaging equipment correctly based on the required procedure
Prepares patient for radiological procedure by positioning patient, moving equipment into specified position and adjusting equipment controls to set exposure factors.
Performs noninterpretive fluoroscopic procedures.
Apply principles of radiation protection.
Minimizes radiation exposure by applying principles of radiation protection to patients, self and others.
Responsible to ensure proper shield is maintained where applicable.
Take responsibility for managing radiation badge program. Sends badges out when needed and post results for staff to see.
Assists in pain management procedures.
Prepare procedure room, including preparation of supplies, and setting up trays.
Practices Aseptic Technique as necessary.
Demonstrates leadership skills in the provision of patient care services.
Acts as assistant to the physician and appropriate personnel during procedures.
Actively participates in orientation of other Surgical Center personnel.
Transport patients as necessary.
Adheres to Safety Standards and Guidelines.
Follows and uses Personal Protective equipment as dictated by policies and procedures.
Disposes of medical waste in proper containers and practices proper disposal of sharps.
Reports unsafe conditions to management.
Demonstrates use of proper body mechanics.
Follows hand hygiene practices and Standard precautions.
Follows Surgical Center policies and procedures.
Who you are
Licensed Radiologic Tech in MA
Familiarity with HIPAA, insurance regulations, policies, procedures and other regulatory policies
Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe working environment
Medical office procedures, policies, practices and medical terminology, telephone protocol and professional etiquette
Understanding of electronic medical systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills: Ability to communicate professionally (i.e. using expressive vocabulary that communicates a complete and detailed message, avoiding spelling errors, employing a respectful tone)
Ability to maintain enthusiasm while facing a high volume and a large variety of duties
Ability and interest in learning procedures and software functionalities that could improve the effectiveness and efficiency of individual and department efforts
