Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
• Execute manufacturing specific Quality Control (QC) Plan with scopes of work and work procedures in coordination with Manufacturing Safety Plan and in a manner that engages all project staff, subcontractors, vendors, and consultants, and to facilitate achievement of contract requirements.
• Develop comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of contract documents, including xPL contract, plans, specifications and applicable codes.
• Assist project team with development of Definable Features of Work (DFOW) Log.
• Facilitate and/or attend pre-installation meeting to communicate scope expectations to operations staff.
• Perform material delivery inspections in collaboration with manufacturing Superintendent and Trade Foreman to confirm compliance with approved submittals.
• Facilitate and/or attend First Work In Place (WIP) or First of a Kind (FOAK) Observation with project team.
• Perform daily quality follow-up inspections within manufacturing facility.
• Arrange for Third-party testing and inspections; analyze and generate report of results.
• Perform QC review of submittals, track issues and concerns with attention to high-risk activities.
• Monitor implementation of engineering procedures within budgetary guidelines, including document control, submissions management, creation and tracking of Request for Information (RFIs), material samples, and documentation and tracking of potential cost changes and approved change orders.
• Establish and maintain working relationships with all stakeholders to support manufacturing-specific QC Plan delivers a fully compliant project.
• Understand manufacturing execution plan and coordinate QC procedures at appropriate stages of work and in line with manufacturing schedule.
• Continually improve strategies and tools to efficiently and effectively document, track and record compliance with contract documents.
• Continually improve procedures to expand development of QC Plan as project progresses.
• Document non-compliant materials and/or workmanship and document compliance after completion of corrective work prior to starting any subsequent work.
• Research and apply additional QC and lean procedures to enhance quality of project delivery.
• Ensure completion of project closeout and quality reports.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s Degree from accredited degree program with minimum of 3 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
• Construction Quality Management/Corps of Engineers Certification (USACE), highly recommended
• Construction experience that bridges both field and engineering responsibilities, required
• Knowledge of construction process, means and methods, and materials, their characteristics, installation procedures, and tolerances
• Ability to understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project schedule
• Proficient computer skills, familiar with project management software, and Microsoft Office suite of applications, and collaboration tools
• Highly organized with attention to detail
• Ability to manage competing demands and meet deadlines
• Professional verbal and written communication skills, able to present information clearly to non-technical audiences
• Demonstrate professional interpersonal skills to develop relationships with project team members and stakeholders
• Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
• Limited travel
