1. Mission

As a System Engineer focusing on Functional Safety for ADAS ECU development, you will drive safety-oriented system design based on customer requirements and ISO 26262. You will work closely with global teams in Germany, India, and Vietnam, while contributing to the development of Functional Safety competence in Japan.

2. Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze, define, and maintain system and safety requirements for ADAS ECU projects
  • Break down Safety Goals and Safety Requirements to system, hardware, and software levels
  • Create or support Functional Safety Concepts and Technical Safety Concepts
  • Perform or support safety analyses such as HARA, FMEA, FTA, and FMEDA
  • Drive safety-oriented design based on QM and ASIL A-D understanding
  • Identify potential faults considering systematic and random faults, and define suitable measures
  • Contribute to technical discussions on SPFM, LFM, PMHF, FTTI / MPFDTI, and Diagnostic Coverage
  • Clarify specifications and resolve technical issues with customers, system test, HW, and SW teams
  • Support Functional Safety Assessments, audits, and Safety Case preparation
  • In the future, contribute to internal FuSa training and knowledge sharing within the Japan team.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in system development or automotive development
  • Good communication skills with customers and global engineering teams
  • Problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn proactively
  • Business-level Japanese
  • Motivation to read technical documents and explain technical topics in English

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience or basic knowledge of ISO 26262-based development
  • Understanding of Safety Goals, Safety Requirements, and ASIL
  • Experience with HARA, FMEA, FTA, FMEDA, SWSA, or DFA
  • Knowledge of ADAS, automotive ECUs, SoCs, AUTOSAR, or embedded software
  • Knowledge of in-vehicle communication such as CAN-FD, Ethernet, or PCIe
  • Experience with Enterprise Architect, codebeamer, IBM DOORS, or similar tools
