The X-RAY technician/Radiographer will provide radiological services for the one-year community- and facility-based TB screening project. Through close collaboration with key teams (i.e., clinical, community-based program (CBP), monitoring and evaluation (M&E)), the Radiographer/X-Ray Technician will help ensure the success of the project by collaborating with cross-team, and project activities in addition to providing high-quality radiological services that align with the Project Team’s needs including partnership compliance

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform high standard radiographic duties as required, and familiar with all protocols associated with each area of work.
  • Maintain privacy, Dignity of patients and abide by the data protection act at all times whilst performing examinations.
  • Prioritize patient’s examination according to the individual needs.
  • Ensure knowledge of emergency procedures.
  • Support and motivate other workers, clerical staff.
  • Ensure the wellbeing of all patients referred to radiology through adherence of local and national policies on health and safety, infection control and radiation protection.
  • Communicate effectively and maintain productive relationships with all stakeholders at all times.
  • Ensuring best practice and minimizing dose to staff, patient’s their carers and relatives.
  • Check equipment faults and report to manufacturer or estates and coordinate service or repair.
  • Be willing to go on out-reach program and be familiar with usage of digital mobile x-ray machine and accessories

Education and Work Experience Requirements:

  • Certificate or Training in radiology.
  • 2-3 years’ work experience in a clinical setting
  • Ability to collaborate closely with a diverse team
  • Proven ability to exercise good judgement, demonstrate political astuteness, and tact.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internally and externally
  • Ability to travel within the district and spend nights in the field.
  • Passion for global health and social justice strongly desired
