Portable Ready-Mix Plant Manager / Batch Plant Operator

Locations: West Texas (Midland, Odessa, Abilene, Big Spring, Sweetwater, San Angelo & surrounding project sites)

Compensation: DOE + Per Diem/Travel (where applicable)

About the Opportunity

Our client is a growing ready-mix concrete producer seeking experienced Portable Plant Managers and Batch Plant Operators (Batchers) to support its expanding portable operations throughout West Texas.

These positions are ideal for professionals who enjoy variety, take pride in producing quality concrete, and are willing to travel between project locations. Portable plants support commercial, industrial, energy, infrastructure, and heavy civil construction projects throughout the region.

Responsibilities

Plant Manager

• Oversee the daily operation of portable ready-mix concrete plants.
• Lead batching, production, quality control, maintenance, and site personnel.
• Coordinate production schedules to meet customer and project demands.
• Maintain inventory of cement, aggregate, admixtures, and other materials.
• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and company standards.
• Troubleshoot operational issues to minimize downtime.
• Coordinate equipment setup, relocation, and startup at new project sites.
• Build strong working relationships with customers, drivers, contractors, and project managers.

Batch Plant Operator (Batcher)

• Operate computerized batching systems to produce quality concrete.
• Accurately batch materials according to mix designs.
• Monitor production and maintain consistent product quality.
• Communicate with drivers and project personnel regarding production schedules.
• Perform routine inspections and basic maintenance of batching equipment.
• Maintain accurate production records and inventory levels.
• Follow all safety and quality control procedures.

Qualifications

Plant Manager

• Experience managing ready-mix concrete plants, preferably portable operations.
• Strong understanding of concrete production, mix designs, and quality control.
• Leadership experience supervising plant personnel.
• Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently in remote project environments.
• Willingness to travel throughout West Texas and relocate between project sites as needed.

Batch Plant Operator

• Experience operating a ready-mix batch plant.
• Knowledge of batching software and computerized control systems.
• Understanding of concrete materials and quality requirements.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
• Ability to work independently and in fast-paced construction environments.
• Willingness to travel to project locations throughout West Texas.

What We're Looking For

• Ready-mix concrete experience is required.
• Portable plant experience is highly preferred.
