Job Description

Kanadevia Inova (KVI) is a global market leader in energy from waste (EfW) and renewable gas. KVI acts as an engineering, procurement and construction contractor and project developer, delivering complete turnkey plants and system solutions for thermal and biological EfW recovery. KVI’s Service Group combines its own research and development with comprehensive manufacturing and erection capabilities to support our clients throughout the entire life cycle of their plant. This position will work remotely and may be located in Rhode Island, Virginia/Pennsylvania or Tampa, FL area.

The Foreman is responsible for supervising and executing on-site service tasks for mostly Categories 4 (mechanical retrofit projects) and 5 (MRO services) service works, including the assembly, installation, maintenance, adjustment, and troubleshooting of mechanical systems. This role ensures that work is performed in accordance with contractual, QHSE, and technical requirements while maintaining effective communication with internal teams and clients. Additionally, the position involves coordinating resources, managing tools and equipment, and upholding site safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Operational Execution & Technical Support:

  • Execute assembly, installation, maintenance, and adjustment operations on mechanical systems in line with technical documentation and project requirements.
  • Inspect equipment, identify technical or contractual deviations, and report issues to the Site Manager or Project Manager.
  • Perform troubleshooting operations and implement corrective actions to resolve technical difficulties.
  • Oversee the delivery, setup, and proper handling of materials, equipment, and machinery on-site.
  • Ensure mechanical tools and equipment are maintained in a clean, serviceable condition and ready for use.

Site Supervision & Coordination:

  • Supervise site workers and coordinate daily site operations to ensure optimal performance and adherence to project deadlines.
  • Organize site layout and setup based on reviewed scopes and plans, ensuring smooth workflow.
  • Conduct safety briefings for temporary staff and subcontractors, reinforcing QHSE regulations on-site.
  • Facilitate effective communication between internal teams (Site Support, Design Office, HSE Manager) and external stakeholders (client representatives, suppliers, subcontractors).
  • Manage inventory of consumables, PPE, and necessary supplies, coordinating with procurement for timely resource availability.

Compliance & Reporting:

  • Ensure strict adherence to QHSE (Quality, Health, Safety, and Environment) standards, internal policies, and external regulations.
  • Monitor site safety practices and compliance, addressing non-conformities and enforcing corrective actions.
  • Relay essential project updates and safety information to the Site Supervisor, Field Service Group Leader, and Account Manager throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Document site activities, including safety reports, time tracking, and deviations, ensuring proper traceability.
  • Provide lessons learned and feedback to support continuous improvement in current and future projects.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

· Timely completion of site tasks and adherence to project deadlines.

· Compliance with QHSE standards and internal procedures.

· Effective resolution of technical issues and deviations.

· Positive feedback from internal teams and clients regarding site management and communication.

· Efficient management and availability of tools and consumables.

Qualifications & Experiences:

  • Vocational qualifications, technician certificate, or relevant experience in boiler-making, or mechanics.
  • 2+ years in mechanical assembly, maintenance, or site supervision within an industrial or maintenance environment.
  • Possession of relevant local safety certifications.
  • Ability to read and interpret industrial plans
  • Working knowledge of mechanics, welding and hydraulics.
  • Experience in the maintenance of waste incineration plants
  • Basic knowledge of boiler construction
  • Understanding in reading plant design drawings
  • Basis Knowledge of the local language, Good command of English; another language is a plus.

  • Frequently required to talk or hear, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.

Working Conditions:

  • Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
