Job Description

Our client is a major manufacturer of wind turbines and other green energy solutions.

They are seeking a highly-resilient and seasoned WTG Project Manager (Onshore & Offshore Wind) to lead the execution of their wind power projects across Vietnam. This is a vital role that will be responsible for managing full project lifecycles from project planning and mobilization to construction, commissioning, and final handover. The ideal candidate will possess an immaculate track record of delivering offshore, nearshore, and onshore wind power projects - and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders, contractors, and cross-functional teams in a dynamic, internationalized project environment.

Strong professional working fluency in English is REQUIRED.

Previous experience with offshore/nearshore wind project management is also REQUIRED. Onshore experience preferred as well.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the overall execution of onshore and offshore wind power projects, ensuring successful delivery against project scope, schedule, budget, quality, and HSE objectives.
  • Manage all project phases, including engineering coordination, procurement support, logistics planning, construction, installation, commissioning, testing, and project handover.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, project owners, EPC contractors, subcontractors, consultants, government authorities, and internal stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain project execution plans, project schedules, resource plans, risk registers, and progress tracking systems.
  • Monitor project performance and proactively identify and mitigate risks that could impact project cost, schedule, quality, or safety.
  • Coordinate offshore and nearshore project activities, including marine logistics, vessel coordination, transportation, installation planning, and offshore construction support.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, client specifications, contractual requirements, Vietnamese regulations, industry standards, and HSE requirements.
  • Lead project meetings, prepare progress reports, and provide regular updates to senior management and clients.
  • Manage project documentation, including technical submissions, inspection records, NCRs, commissioning documentation, punch lists, handover packages, and final project dossiers.
  • Support contract administration, change management, variation claims, cost control, and commercial risk management activities.
  • Coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, quality, and HSE functions.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, contractors, suppliers, regulatory authorities, and project partners.
  • Drive a strong safety culture across all project activities and ensure adherence to project HSE objectives.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 8 - 10 years of progressive project management experience for the renewable energy, power generation, infrastructure, and/or industrial sectors.
  • Bare minimum 2 years of experience working with offshore/nearshore wind energy projects. Experience with onshore wind projects is also preferred.
  • Familiarity with Vietnamese permitting, regulatory, and grid connection requirements for renewable energy projects.
  • Comfortable regularly communicating with international developers, EPC contractors, turbine manufacturers, and major renewable energy companies.
  • Strong understanding of wind farm construction, turbine installation, balance of plant activities, commissioning, testing, and project handover processes.
  • Proven experience managing contractors, subcontractors, project schedules, budgets, risks, quality programs, and HSE performance.
  • Strong knowledge of EPC project environments and project execution methodologies.
  • Strong professional working fluency in English is REQUIRED.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and work at project sites, and for extended hours at times.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certifications are preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Renewable Energy, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
