Job Description

The primary responsibility of the Banquet Convention Porter is to provide courteous, friendly service to customer or guests during meeting and banquet functions.

  • Set tables by arranging place setting in accordance with prescribed procedures.
  • Pick up litter or trash from public areas.
  • Strike or clean a banquet or function room by removing tables, linens, trash, etc.
  • Meet attendance guidelines and adhere to regulatory, departmental, and company policies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Must have worked or is currently working a customer service position.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
  • Must possess the skills to lift, push or pull convention tables, chairs and other convention equipment.
  • Must be able to work high volume, high profile events not limited to New Year’s Eve or Super Bowl.
  • Must present a neat and professional appearance with good hygiene.
  • Work requires interactions with customers, public and co-workers.
  • Work requires teamwork with other staff members.
  • Must have worked or is currently working a customer service position.
  • Work requires effective communication in English, both verbal and written form in a professional manner.
  • Work requires schedule flexibility which may include nights, weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed.
