TEACHING ASSISTANT BROCK

Division: CAS Department: CJ Experience: Entry-level

As a Teaching Assistant, you will assist with grading assignments and exams across multiple classes and support other course‑related tasks as needed. This role offers a strong opportunity to build experience, strengthen academic skills, and contribute to the overall success of the department.

Responsibilities and Career Competencies

  1. Assist with grading assignments, quizzes, and exams for multiple classes under instructor guidance – CT, P, T
  2. Support course organization (attendance tracking, uploading materials to LMS, preparing handouts) – C, P, T
  3. Help instructors with classroom needs to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations – C, TW, P
  4. Provide student support by answering questions and clarifying instructions when appropriate – C, CSD
  5. Communicate effectively with instructors about progress, student concerns, and grading updates – C, P
  6. Take on additional duties as assigned that contribute to course and department success – P, TW

Education Requirements: Must be a current UPIKE student in good standing.

Preferred Skills: Word; PowerPoint; Canva; attention to detail; public speaking; written & verbal communication; willingness to learn.

Work Schedule: M–F; hours vary depending on workload (set with supervisor).

Work Conditions: Office/classroom environment.

Physical Demands: Keyboarding.

Pay Rate: $10.50/hour
