Writer Associate Producer

Miami, FL | Full Time

We are looking for a talented Writer/Associate Producer to join our national Spanish-language streaming news team. This role combines exceptional editorial writing with daily show production, helping shape compelling newscasts and special programming for a fast-paced digital newsroom.

The ideal candidate is an outstanding Spanish-language writer with strong editorial judgment, a deep understanding of U.S. Hispanic and Latin American current events, and the ability to thrive under tight deadlines.

Essential Functions

• Write scripts, teases, headlines, opens, transitions, and segment copy for daily live and recorded news programming.
• Research, write, and develop interview questions and briefing materials for anchors and guests.
• Serve as the Associate Producer assisting the Line Producer in building and executing daily shows.
• Partner with Graphic Designers to develop creative visual elements, explainers, full-screen graphics, and storytelling enhancements.
• Adapt editorial content for streaming, social media, and digital platforms.
• Ensure all content meets the highest journalistic and editorial standards.

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum 3 years of experience as a Writer, Associate Producer, or similar editorial role at a national television network, streaming news platform, or major news organization.
• Native or near-native fluency in written and spoken Spanish; English proficiency required.
• Experience writing for live news broadcasts, special programming, and interviews.
• Ability to multitask and perform under pressure in a breaking news environment.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with producers, anchors, assignment editors, and graphic designers.
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, holidays, and extended breaking news coverage.
• Knowledge of digital news production, audience engagement, and social media storytelling.
• Familiarity with newsroom production systems and graphics workflows.

POSITION TYPE/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
This is a Full Time position. Actual schedule and hours may vary.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Reports directly to VP Special Projects & Strategic Initiatives for Broadcast
