Hypertec is seeking a Workshop Technician to join our Operations team in Montreal, Quebec, for a temporary twelve-month contract If you are motivated, collaborative, and aligned with our values, we would love to hear from you.

What You’ll Be Contributing:

• Fabricate, modify, and optimize tooling, fixtures, carts, and workshop equipment to support production activities
• Build and implement practical 5S solutions (custom foam layouts, tool organization systems, visual controls) to improve efficiency and usability on the floor
• Provide direct daily support to production operations, ensuring tools, workstations, and equipment are fully functional, available, and optimized
• Act as first-line technical support for workshop and production equipment, performing adjustments, repairs, and rapid interventions to minimize downtime
• Execute workstation setups, reconfigurations, and equipment installations across production and lab environments
• Support Operational Excellence by executing physical implementation of tools, setups, and improvements on the floor
• Participate in workshop and lab deployments, including full setup, relocation, and reinstallation of equipment and tooling
• Perform preventive maintenance on workshop and production equipment (e.g., conveyors, vacuum lifts, tubing systems, tools)
• Document work performed, maintenance actions, and inventory updates with clear traceability
• Use internal systems to track tasks and ensure follow-up on requests

What Sets You Apart:

• DEC or Technical school diploma in relevant technical field or equivalent;
• Relevant experience in a similar role (2+ years);
• Proficiency in using standard hand and power tools (drill, grinder, press drill, caliper, measuring tape);
• Intermediate computer knowledge;
• Good sense of responsibility, autonomy and resourcefulness;
• Good analytical and synthesis sense;
• Very good dexterity and attention to details;
• Very good manual skills and visual acuity for precision work;
• Ability to work autonomously;
• Ability to maintain a spirit of learning with a positive attitude of receiving feedback and ongoing training;
• Excellent communication skills (written and spoken); and problem solving aptitudes.
• Forklift license, scissor lift certification, and experience operating lifting equipment considered an asset
