KEY RESPONSIBILITES

A. Financial & Business Performance

  • Own the Service Center’s annual budget and financial control.
  • Deliver Net Sales, Product Margin, Indirect Costs, and Absorption targets.
  • Prepare structured monthly reports covering financial, operational, quality, and HSE KPIs.
  • Use data-driven insights for decision‑making and performance improvement.
  • Optimize operating cost (labor, machine utilization, energy, inventory, logistics, consumables, related expenses).
  • Identify and drive cost‑saving initiatives and long‑term cost‑reduction strategies.
  • Maintain accurate forecasting to support financial transparency.
  • Monitor product group profitability with Sales and Operations

B. Operations, Production & HSE

  • Ensure safe, efficient, and high‑quality production aligned with Valmet standards.
  • Lead QHSE improvement initiatives (safety culture, hazard analysis, RCA).
  • Maintain equipment reliability through preventive and corrective maintenance and CAPEX execution.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and local legal requirements.
  • Plan and balance capacity, workload, manpower, shift arrangements, and subcontracting.
  • Safeguard product quality; lead NCR management, CA/PA, and quality improvement actions.
  • Optimize workflow, logistics, warehousing, and inventory control.
  • Develop and execute long‑term operational and capability roadmaps.
  • Lead Lean/CI initiatives and standardize best practices across the workshop.
  • Manage production scheduling and lead‑time planning.
  • Lead emergency preparedness and safety drills.

C. People Leadership & Capability Development

  • Build a high‑performance and high‑engagement team culture.
  • Lead workforce planning, recruitment, onboarding, coaching, and development.
  • Delegate effectively; ensure role clarity, accountability, and succession planning.
  • Promote strong communication, ethical behavior, and collaboration.
  • Conduct performance reviews and ensure follow‑up actions.
  • Maintain an updated competence matrix aligned with operational needs.

D. Systems, Tools & Data Management

  • Ensure effective use of ERP, planning tools (LN Infor, Delfoi), and digital systems.
  • Maintain accurate operational and master data; ensure strict process adherence.
  • Support digitalization initiatives and new system implementations.
  • Strengthen data governance for accuracy, reliability, and audit readiness.

E. Collaboration & Customer Interface

  • Collaborate with Sales, Supply Chain, QHSE, Finance, HR, Field Service, and APAC workshop teams.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams in other valmet locations (R&D, Procurement, Engineering, Quality, and global support units.)
  • Engage with customers for clarity, issue resolution, and strong delivery/quality performance.
  • Manage suppliers and subcontractors for safety, quality, delivery, and cost compliance.

QUALIFICATION & REQUIREMENTS

Essential

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or related Engineering field.
  • 5+ years of workshop or production operations leadership experience.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and continuous improvement skills.
  • Proficient in English; MS Office/Office 365 and ERP systems.
  • Hands‑on, proactive leadership style.
  • Ability to analyze operational data for decision‑making.
  • Experience working cross‑functionally.
  • Proven resilience and composure under demanding operational conditions, with the ability to lead the team through high‑pressure situations

Preferred

  • Experience in roller service, industrial machinery maintenance service, or pulp & paper industry.
  • Familiarity with LN Infor ERP, Delfoi, or similar systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001.
  • Understanding of financial monitoring and cost drivers.
  • Experience in multinational environments.
  • Knowledge of Lean methodology.
